Let’s clear something up straight away: the free 3-Day Gutsy Reset is not a detox, a cleanse or a quick fix. Your liver and kidneys already handle the detoxing, and no three days of eating can “flush” or “heal” your gut. Anyone who promises that is selling you something.
So what is it? It is a gentle, practical starting point for women in perimenopause and menopause who feel bloated, tired and overwhelmed by conflicting food advice. Three days of simple, realistic meals built around the things that genuinely support digestion: fibre, protein, plants, hydration and a steadier meal rhythm.
Sometimes the most useful thing is not more information. It is a short, structured experiment that helps you stop guessing and start noticing what your body responds to.
Disclaimer: This article is general information only and is not a substitute for personalised medical or dietetic advice. If you have a medical condition, take regular medication, or have a history of disordered eating, speak with your GP or qualified health professional before changing how you eat.

Why call it a reset, then?
Fair question. “Reset” here does not mean wiping anything clean. It means resetting the pattern of your days: three days where breakfast, lunch and dinner are decided for you, portions are sensible, and every meal includes protein and plants. That is it.
For many women, midlife eating has drifted into grazing, skipped meals, low-protein breakfasts and a big catch-up dinner. Three days of rhythm will not transform your health, but it can give you two valuable things: a genuine break from decision fatigue, and clues.
You may notice you feel less bloated with a steadier rhythm, or that a protein-rich breakfast keeps you full until lunch. Those observations are worth more than any generic food rule.
If you want the science behind why digestion often changes at this stage of life, I have written about it in detail in Why Your Gut Changes in Perimenopause.
What the three days focus on
🩷 Fibre, increased gently. Fibre feeds your gut microbes and supports bowel regularity. The Australian adequate intake for adult women is 25 g per day, and most of us fall short. The meals nudge you toward it without a sudden jump, because going from low to high fibre overnight is the fastest way to feel more bloated, not less.
🩷 Protein at every meal. Protein supports muscle, satiety and steadier energy, all of which matter more in midlife. Each day includes a protein source at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
🩷 Plant variety. Different plants feed different gut microbes. Across the three days you will eat a wide spread of vegetables, fruit, wholegrains, legumes, nuts and seeds without having to think about it.
🩷 Hydration. Fluid supports digestion and helps fibre do its job. The plan includes simple prompts to drink water and herbal teas through the day.
🩷 Meal rhythm. Three meals, one snack, no grazing marathon, no arriving at dinner ravenous. Your gut often appreciates rhythm more than restriction.
Focus on Nourishment, Not Restriction

The 3-day meal plan at a glance
These are the meals inside the free plan. Nothing exotic, nothing you need a health food shop for.
Day 1
- Breakfast: chia pudding with blueberries and pepitas
- Lunch: quinoa and roasted vegetable salad with chicken or salmon
- Snack: apple with almonds
- Dinner: baked salmon with garlic spinach and roasted sweet potato
Day 2
- Breakfast: green smoothie with spinach, mango, cucumber and flaxseed
- Lunch: brown rice bowl with grilled chicken, avocado and sesame seeds
- Snack: carrots with hummus
- Dinner: hearty lentil and vegetable soup with a rocket side salad
Day 3
- Breakfast: overnight oats with grated pear and cinnamon
- Lunch: Mediterranean plate with falafel, cucumber salad, olives and rice
- Snack: coconut yoghurt with raspberries and sunflower seeds
- Dinner: fish tacos with cabbage, avocado and lime yoghurt dressing
Swap freely. Prefer tofu to salmon, or cannot tolerate raw salad? Substitute with what suits your body and your kitchen. The structure matters more than any single ingredient.
Simple habits that support the three days
- Drink around 2 litres of water daily, adding lemon or cucumber if plain water bores you.
- Sip herbal teas such as ginger, peppermint or chamomile if you enjoy them.
- Move gently: a walk, some stretching, or whatever your body is used to.
- Aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep, since poor sleep can influence appetite and cravings the next day.
What the reset can and cannot do
Honesty matters here, because the wellness world is full of overpromises.
It can: give you three days of structure, take the decision-making off your plate, gently lift your fibre, protein and plant variety, and help you notice patterns in how you feel.
It cannot: detox your body, cure bloating, fix hormones, cause meaningful weight change in three days, or replace personalised advice. If your symptoms are persistent, severe or worrying, that is a conversation for your GP, not a meal plan.
If that honesty is refreshing rather than disappointing, we will probably get along well.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. There is no rule against coffee. In fact research shows it can actually support liver health and blood sugar balance.
But I advocate a personalised approach, so if you suspect it bothers your gut, this is a good window to notice, but nothing is banned.
The meals are built around protein, fibre and healthy fats, so most women find them satisfying. If you are hungry, eat more. This is not a calorie-restriction plan.
Absolutely. Substitute proteins, vegetables and grains based on preference, budget and tolerance.
It is designed for generally healthy adults. If you have a medical condition, take regular medication, are pregnant, or have a history of disordered eating, check with your GP or health professional first.
This is where I differ from the detox industry: the reset is a starting point, not a cycle you repeat. The goal is that some of its habits, protein at each meal, more plants, steadier rhythm, quietly become your normal. If you feel you need to keep “resetting”, that is a sign you would benefit from personalised support rather than another round.
You will have some clues about what your body responds to. If you want help turning those clues into a personalised plan, that is exactly what a Gutsy Clarity session is for: a 75-minute review, a written plan, and a follow-up so you know what to try first.
